In Edgar Allan Poe’s Masque of the Red Death, the black room with the red windows at the west side of the hallway represents pain and death. The people in the story did not want to go in the black room, because they were afraid. In the end of the story, Prince Prospero ends up dying in the black room after he tries to fight with death. After all the other party guests go after him, they also are conquered by death. Black represents the death, winter, and night in the story, and is the final chapter of life. Night is another representation of the color black. When people think of night, they think of the end of the day. Death is the end of our lives. If we think of the day as our entire life, we can see that each part of the day is a different time in our lives. The red window is very symbolic in the story. The red with the black symbolizes the pain that comes with death. The pain can be physical or emotional. There is a lot of mental pain that comes with death. No one wants to die, but everyone must die in the end. The ticking of the clock is like the time flying by in our lives. The colors black and red relate to my life in a big way. My great grandmother died not that long ago, and it was one of the most painful things I have ever had to deal with. She had cancer, and I still remember clearly the day my mom came home and told me and my brother the news that my great grandmother was not going to live much longer. I visited her a few times while she was in the hospital, and the last thing she ever said to me was, “I’m sorry I’ll never get the chance to see your kids. I love you.” She was one of the greatest people in my life, and at the time, I wasn’t ready to accept that she was leaving for good, and her day was ending. I realize now that everyone’s life will eventually come to an end, and death will conquer. The blackness will settle in, and the day will come to an end.

You also need to complete your book adverstisement as the most recent blog. Also, correct the work "masque" throughout Poe's essay and remove your Poe questions from the short story.
