- 120 college presidents are trying to push the drinking age to 18
- The leaders hope that lowering the age will help people drink more responsibly
- Normally legalizing something, causes people to indulge more, not less
- As the legal drinking ages go up, the number of accidents from kids 16-20 killed because of alcohol has dropped 60%
- Some of that is attributed to wearing seatbelts and more awareness to the possible effects of drinking and driving
- putting alcohol into law for 18 year old kids would only increase the number of kids drinking, and the amount they drink

- At one major university, student visits to the emergency room have for alcohol related incidents have increased 84% in the past three years
- Maybe if students attend an alcohol education course, they would keep their records clean
- And maybe if they adopted zero-tolerance laws for drunk driving of all ages, the teens would follow that rule
- Maybe these will stop the ever increasing amount of alcohol teenagers consume
